Our Bathroom Design & Installation Process

A designer visits your home in Dundee to measure the room precisely, look at sightlines, light, plumbing positions and floor build-up. We talk through how you actually use a bathroom, your style preferences and your realistic budget. Bring images you like — Pinterest, Instagram, magazine pages — they help us understand your taste.

What you get: Layout sketches on the day, a clear specification list, and an honest steer on what your budget will actually buy.

Back at the office we work up the design, source the suite, brassware and tiles from our supplier network, and price the whole project line-by-line. You receive a fully itemised, written, fixed-price quote covering labour, materials, certificates, waste removal and warranty.

What you get: A real quote you can act on — not a vague estimate. We'll happily revise the spec to suit different budgets.

Once you accept the quote, we book the start date and order every item so it's on site before work begins. This is the single biggest difference between projects that run on time and those that don't — we never start without materials in hand.

What you get: A confirmed start date, a day-by-day schedule, and a single project manager for the duration of the work.

The old bathroom comes out. Waste leaves site the same day. First-fix plumbing and electrics are run while walls and floors are exposed. We protect the rest of your home with dust sheets, floor protection and zip walls to contain dust.

What you get: A clean shell ready for waterproofing and tiling, with all the hidden work that determines how long your bathroom lasts.

Plasterboard goes up. Floors prepared. Waterproof tanking applied and flood-tested in wet zones (essential in wet rooms, recommended in showers). Underfloor heating mats laid. Self-levelling compound where needed.

What you get: A correctly built and fully waterproofed substrate — the layer you never see but the one that protects your home for decades.

Floor tiles first, then walls. Every tile dry-laid to plan cuts before adhesive goes down. Full tiles in the most visible places, cuts where they won't be seen. Joints set out to line through wall, floor and the shower niche where possible. Grouted and silicone-finished.

What you get: A tiled bathroom that reads as one cohesive piece of work, not a patchwork of compromises.

Bath, shower, basin, WC, taps, towel rail. Electrics commissioned and tested. Mirror, vanity unit, accessories. Paintwork, skirting and trim. Final silicone work to wet edges.

What you get: A fully working bathroom — water on, lights working, every fitting installed properly with backing plates and quality fixings.

We snag the whole bathroom against our own detailed checklist. Anything not right gets put right before we leave. Deep clean. Walk-through with you covering care instructions for tiles, brassware and electrical items. All warranty paperwork and certificates handed over.

What you get: A bathroom that's finished, signed off, and ready to enjoy — with a 12-month workmanship warranty in writing.
