Professional Bathroom Installation in Dundee
A bathroom installation is one of the biggest single investments you'll make in your home, so it has to be done properly. At Dundee Bathrooms, we've been installing complete bathrooms across Dundee, Broughty Ferry, Monifieth, Carnoustie and the wider Tayside area for over 15 years. Every installation is handled end-to-end by our own in-house team — there are no subcontractors, no national chain handoffs, and no surprise extras halfway through the job.
Whether you're after a clean, classic family bathroom, a modern walk-in shower room replacing an old bath, a new ensuite added during an extension, or a full luxury master bathroom with freestanding bath and underfloor heating, we deliver the same standard of workmanship every time. The difference between a bathroom that still looks beautiful in ten years and one that starts to look tired in twelve months almost always comes down to the fitter — not the suite.

Bathroom Installation Process — Step by Step
Days 1–2: Strip-out and first fix
The old bathroom comes out and waste leaves site the same day. New plumbing and electrical first-fix is run while walls and floors are exposed. This is the noisiest and dustiest stage and we use dust sheets, floor protection and zip walls to contain it.
Days 3–5: Walls, floors and waterproofing
Plasterboard goes up, floors are prepared and any tanking is installed and tested. Underfloor heating mats are laid and self-levelling compound goes down where needed. This is the stage that protects your bathroom for decades — done properly here, leaks become almost impossible.
Days 5–9: Tiling
Floor first, then walls, with every tile set out around the room so you get full tiles in the most visible places and cuts where they won't be seen. Grouting follows, then silicone work to all wet edges.
Days 9–12: Second-fix and finishing
The suite goes in — bath, shower, basin, WC, taps, towel rail. Electrics are commissioned and tested. Paintwork, skirtings and trims complete the room.
Day 13–14: Snag, clean and handover
We snag the whole bathroom against our own checklist, deep clean, and walk you through your new bathroom with full warranty paperwork.
Choosing Layouts for Dundee Property Types
Dundee's housing stock is hugely varied and the right bathroom layout for a stone-built West End villa is very different to the right layout for a modern Waterfront apartment or a 1930s semi in Downfield. Our designers have worked in every type of property in the city and will recommend the layout that gives you the best balance of usable space, storage and natural light.
Popular layouts include the bath-and-overshower combination for family bathrooms, walk-in shower with vanity basin for compact rooms, double-vanity family bathrooms for larger spaces, and freestanding bath with separate walk-in shower for master bathrooms in larger homes.
Materials, Tiles and Suite Choices
We're not tied to any one supplier and we'll give you honest advice on what's worth spending on and what isn't. Generally speaking, money spent on quality taps, thermostatic shower valves and brassware pays off — these are the parts you touch and rely on every day. Tile spend has diminishing returns above mid-range porcelain, and you can save significantly on accessories without compromising the finished look. We'll talk all of this through during your design consultation.
Bathroom Installation Costs in Dundee
Most of our installations fall into three brackets: budget family bathrooms at £2,750–£4,500, mid-range family or ensuite bathrooms at £4,500–£7,500, and premium or luxury bathrooms at £7,500–£15,000+. There's a full breakdown by bathroom type on our bathroom costs page. Wet rooms typically cost £4,000–£9,000 depending on size and finish.
Why Dundee Homeowners Recommend Our Installation Team
Most of our work comes from word-of-mouth and repeat customers. People recommend us because we do what we say we'll do, we stick to the quoted price, and the finish lasts. Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a bathroom installation take in Dundee?
A straightforward family bathroom takes 7–10 working days; mid-range projects with new layouts usually run 10–14 days; wet rooms and luxury installations can take 3–4 weeks. We give you a day-by-day schedule before work starts and stick to it.
Do you handle all the trades for bathroom installation?
Yes — every trade is in-house. Our plumbers, electricians, tilers, joiners and plasterers all work directly for us. You deal with one project manager from quote to handover, and there's no waiting on subcontractors.
How much does bathroom installation cost in Dundee?
Most full installations in Dundee fall between £2,750 and £8,500 depending on size, suite choice and tiling. Luxury and wet room projects can run £10,000–£20,000+. Every quote is written, itemised and fixed price after a free home visit.
Will I be without a bathroom for the whole project?
Usually yes, while strip-out and first-fix happen — typically 3–5 days. We do everything possible to leave the toilet usable overnight where the layout allows, and we'll discuss this on the day-by-day plan before we start.
Can you install a bathroom I've already bought?
Yes — we regularly fit suites bought from Wickes, B&Q, Victoria Plum, Soak, independent showrooms or online. We'll check your spec list before installation day to make sure nothing is missing or incompatible.
Do you remove the old bathroom and tiles?
Yes — full strip-out, removal and disposal of the old bathroom, tiles, flooring and any built-in cupboards is included in every quote. We leave the site clean and ready to start the new install.
What guarantees come with the installation?
Every installation comes with a 12-month workmanship warranty backed by us directly, plus the manufacturer warranties on the suite, taps, showers and electrical items (often 5–25 years).
Are you insured?
Yes — we carry full public liability insurance. All gas, electrical and plumbing work is carried out by qualified, certified tradespeople and notified where required under building regulations.
